How to date your mixer
Hi everyone! I'm Jake, the developer/IT guy here at Mr. Mixer and I just wanted to share this little tool I made. One of the common questions we get is how to figure out how old your mixer is. Hopefully this makes figuring that out a bit easier for you.
If you turn your mixer upside down and look inside the base you should see a sticker with the serial number. Enter your mixers serial number and the decoder should be able to pull up the manufacturing date. I've also included the sheet below to figure out the date manually just incase you'd like that information.
Here’s an example of what that sticker should look like. You can see the serial number listed on the left-hand side.
KitchenAid Mixer Date Decoder
Please enter a valid 9-character serial number
This decoder will only work for mixers manufatured after 1979. Any mixers manufactured before then would have been made when Hobart still owned KitchenAid. If your mixer does not have the same sticker shown above, try and look for a sticker with 5 numerical digits like the picture below shows.
This number is another way to date your mixer. The first 3 numbers will represent the day in the year (001 would be Jan 1st, 010 would be Jan 10th) and the last two numbers are the year itself. So for the mixer in the photo, it's manufacutre date would be July 9th, 1987
If you have any questions or issues with this, shoot me an email at mrmixer316it@gmail.com and I'll do what I can!
